At a North German university, a measuring method has been developed for monitoring scour (erosions in the seabed) formed particularly at quaysides during manoeuvres of ships. The scour can be measured even while it is being formed so that immediate protective measures can be taken. The method can also be used to register long-term effects. Companies are sought who are interested in the further co-development for industrial applications or in buying either the patent or a licence.
