A specialist technology SME based in Scotland is developing one of its technologies to combat corrosion in the Oil and Gas industry. The technology is essentially a soluble glass which releases antimicrobial actives at a pre-determined rate.

An initial 'feasibility' study has demonstrated its ability to treat bacteria associated with microbiologically influenced corrosion in a pipeline application.

They are now seeking an industry partner to further develop the technology.
