A Russian R&D Institute (Moscow region) developed a technology for evaluating oil spills impact on sea waters by detecting genetic changes in the microbial biodiversity in sediments. The technology can be used when in situ bioremediation strategies are to be developed for the clean-up of oil spills in seas. The institute is looking for a partner for further development and adaptation to industrial application.
