The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission developed a Large Crash Test Simulator for simulating the safety performance of transport units. Advantages include the precise testing of large units at lower costs, testing of bodies in isolation from their entire structure, reaching very large deformations during testing and measuring the energy flow at any cross section of the specimen. Partners are sought for licensing.
