An Italian university has developed a process for the treatment of waters. The technology is based on the electrochemical cold combustion of organic pollutants at diamond anodes. This technology is now in lab scale; the university offers its expertise to companies involved in wastewater treatment, drinking water supply and groundwater remediation, and interested in an extension of the technology to pilot and plant scale.
