Abstract
A new thermal drilling system was developed in Slovakia. The drilling (cutting) principle of this system makes use of a controlled combustion of hydrogen in an oxygen atmosphere underneath the drill. At the same time, the melting process is accompanied by the production of cracks. The combustion process creates water steam under high pressure. The system can be used in the mining industry.
