A UK research organisation has designed and patented a Static Imaging Fourier Transform Spectroscopy (SIFTS) instrument using a simple, mechanically fixed optical arrangement. The instrument is ultra-compact, robust, fast and accurate. A successful demonstration prototype has been constructed and the organisation is seeking industrial partners to develop the prototype and exploit the technology.
