A German University has disclosed a non-invasive method for the detection of inflammations and the monitoring of inflammation therapy by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). New, non-toxic perfluorocarbons encapsuled in nano-emulsions are ingested by circulating cells related to inflammations. As a result these cells are marked by fluorine-19, so that their detection is possible by direct MRI. Innovative companies are sought for licensing agreements and/or research collaboration.
