Spanish researchers have developed a new technique to enhance plant resistance to the action of certain viruses, in particular potyviruses which cause significant losses in agricultural, pastural, horticultural and ornamental crops. The research team has succeeded in inhibiting the expression of a gene whose presence favors the reproduction of the virus and thus the infection of the plant, the AtDBP1 gene. Researchers are looking for partners for license agreements or technical cooperation.
