Irish owned electrical engineering solutions company, Enersol have chosen England’s Northwest to set up their first international base, creating up to 30 jobs in the region over the next 3 years.

After working closely with the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), the company will be based at the Energy Innovation Centre at EA Technology.

Enersol will also collaborate with the University of Manchester on the research and development of energy distribution networks, looking at how to connect renewable energy to the grid. This will involve working closely with the Joule Centre for Energy Research.

Since being established in 2002, Enersol have grown significantly, responding to the needs of customers proactively seeking to combat the effects of climate change, reducing energy use and supporting the transition towards more sustainable sources of generation. Enersol works closely with customers to identify and address energy efficiency issues.

The company is keen to work with local businesses and employ local engineers. The company places considerable emphasis on training and education and is particularly interested in upskilling engineers who may have recently lost jobs due to the current financial situation.

After opening in 2008, Enersol will be the Energy Innovation Centre’s first foreign investment company to make a base at the centre, confirming its ability to provide members with the expertise, facilities and resources needed to succeed.
